Inspiration, Heart and Passion
New Forest Artist Tony Slade is building a good reputation as a highly proficient landscape artist working with acrylics on canvas and board. He is inspired by open spaces and big skies producing atmospheric landscapes and seascapes in a refined fluid style.
Tony developed many of his artistic skills during a long career as a Signwriter, many of the traditional skills and techniques were passed from father to son during his apprenticeship within his Father’s Signwriting business.
“Over the last 40 years as a freelance Signwriter, I have worked on numerous projects working to a corporate brief and I feel privileged to have been able to spend much of my working life being creative... however I am now really enjoying the freedom to paint what inspires me.I have wanted to work as an artist for as long as I can remember and started to experiment with landscapes around 10 years ago. It makes such a difference to paint from the heart with passion and I hope that shows in my work. I want to make people feel something when they see my art, to hear the sound of the waves... feel the wind or the warmth of the sun... to smell the sea. I hope that my art inspires and evokes the imagination and transports people to a happy place or a special memory.”
