Annmarie

Individual & Inspired by Nature…

With a background in architecture and construction Annmarie has spent what feels like a lifetime drawing straight lines.

Using mixed media, painting in an abstract way is a welcome respite from all that goes with a technical profession; a space to quieten the noises in my head and tune into the simple things in life that make me happy.

AM Thomas Paintings operate from a first floor studio space at Fisherton Mill, Salisbury where you can view some of Annmarie’s work and maybe even catch her painting!

(Commissions are welcome)

“There are recurring themes of hope and resilience in my work. I always cheer for the underdog, love unshakable bonds and the idea that anything can happen. Colour is my motivation and starting point; I find a combination that intrigues me and start painting.
I’m starting 2022 with some new paintings that were created for an exhibition at Fisherton Mill and represent an investigation into the relationship between line and organic form; trying to find space on the surface for both to exist as opposites and also the compliment to each other. The expressive marks first took shape in my sketchbooks from the start of the year which I tried to attend to daily, much like a diary.”
